QUICKSHOT UNVEILS ITS NEW GENX SERIES OF JOYSTICKS WHICH INCLUDE A USB MODEL AND THE FIRST LEFT-HANDED ERGONOMIC JOYSTICK | |
Milpitas, California, July 15, 1998 - QuickShot Technology, Inc. is proud to introduce its new GenX Series of computer game controllers. The GenX Series debuts with four joystick models designed to optimize functionality, versatility and comfort for gamers of all levels. These joysticks have a stylish, ergonomic design all with a unique metallic color treatment. The series includes a USB model and the first ergonomic joystick custom-made for left-handed gamers. GenX 700 GenX 700 offers versatile control options by combining analog and digital controls into one device. On the base of the joystick are three control mode selectors. Two of the selectors allow users to switch the HAT and Rudder between standard analog and keyboard digital modes. The third control mode selector allows users to switch the GenX 700 into full-digital mode. In addition, the GenX 700 features a unique, full-size, ergonomic BioThrottle™ complete with four built-in fire/function buttons. Another advanced feature of this joystick is its rotational 3D handle that offers three directions of mobility. The multi-view HAT switch and four fire buttons are ergonomically placed on the 3D handle. GenX 700 is scheduled to ship on September 1, 1998 with an MSRP of $49.99. GenX 500, GenX 500L and GenX 500 USB GenX 500 is a streamlined analog joystick loaded with all of the standard features available from a dual-circuit game port. Based on the GenX family design, GenX 500 provides users with a comfortable grip on its 3D rotational handle that features a multi-view HAT switch and four fire buttons. The throttle control is conveniently placed on the base of the joystick. P.H. Cheng, President at QuickShot Technology, Inc. states that, “Our GenX 500 model is the most ergonomic and functional non-programmable joystick in the market today.” GenX 500L is a mirror image of the 500 model design and contains the exact same features. GenX 500L is the first joystick designed and made specifically for left-handed gamers. The plug-and-play GenX 500 USB offers increased functionality and stability over standard game port joysticks. The major advantage is that all buttons can be used simultaneously (HAT, throttle, rudder and four fire buttons) as opposed to the traditional game port joystick where only three axes (X, Y and throttle or HAT or rudders) and four buttons can be used at one time without special drivers. GenX 500 and 500L are scheduled to ship on August 1, 1998 with an estimated MSRP of $34.99. GenX 500 USB is scheduled to ship September 1, 1998 with an estimated MSRP of $42.99.
