Q. What is the MasterPilot
?
A. The MasterPilot
is a state-of-the-art flight console for popular games--especially PC flight
simulator games
Q. What is the advantage of using the MasterPilot
?
A. The MasterPilot
frees you from the keyboard. You no longer have to remember and perform
awkward commands to play your favorite games. Your response time is enhanced by using
pushbuttons and you are more involved in the game itself with the most fun-filled action.
Q. How many games does the MasterPilot
support?
A. Currently the MasterPilot
supports over 75 games. They are widely available in retail stores.
The ROM cartridge in the MasterPilot
is upgradable. As newer games are introduced, the cartridge
can be upgraded.
Q. What are the game cards?
A. The MasterPilot
is packaged with 39 custom game cards. (Printed on both sides). Each side is
individually numbered and dedicated to a particular game with its specific commands.
Q. What if I lost a game card?
A. A replacement set can be obtained from Quickshot
for a nominal charge.
Q. Can I use all the commands with the MasterPilot
?
A. Yes. All the commands supported by the game itself are supported by the MasterPilot
.
Q. What is a ROM cartridge?
A. There is a removable cartridge at the base of the MasterPilot
which stores the commands for
over 75 games.
Q. Can I upgrade the cartridge in the future?
A. Yes. As newer games are available, QuickShot will upgrade the cartridge for a nominal fee.
Q. Can I program the Cartridge?
A. Yes, but you will need to purchase the MasterPilot Programmer, which comes with a cartridge to program and software to print and design your own cards.
Q. Do I have to run the "set up" utility ?
A. No. You do not.
Q. Is the MasterPilot
hard to set up?
A. No. It is easy. Just select the game number and enter it into the console. Insert the game card;
and the 24 buttons automatically become functional with commands appearing next to them. These
commands are color-coded by functional groups and can be enabled or disabled by the Mode Select
buttons.
Q. Does the MasterPilot
need an external power adapter?
A. No. It is powered by your PC itself; just like your keyboard.
Q. What type of connectors does the MasterPilot
support?
A. The MasterPilot
cable supports standard DIN as well as mini-DIN connectors.
Q. Can I use my joystick with the MasterPilot
?
A. Absolutely. You may use the MasterPilot
with your left hand while you use a joystick with
your right.
Q. My joystick or my flight yoke already has a throttle, will it conflict with the throttle
control on the MasterPilot
?
A. No. The MasterPilot
throttle acts the same way as the keyboard keys. If you connect an
external analog throttle that the game software supports and configure the game, it will function
properly. Depending on the software, the MasterPilot
throttle may or may not be overridden.
Q. Can I use my keyboard with the MasterPilot
?
A. Surely. In addition to the MasterPilot
, you may use your keyboard at any time; even during the
game.
Q. Why is the game card 001 for Windows '95 tm ?
A. When you insert the game card 001, 17 of the WIN 95 tm "short cut" keys are enabled with the
MasterPilot
buttons.
Q. What should I do with the MasterPilot
when I am not playing games?
A. You don't have to do anything. When you power up, the default setting is 001, and the special
Win '95 tm shortcut keys are at your figure tips.
Q. What is the warranty on the MasterPilot
?
A. The MasterPilot
carries a limited warranty for 3 years against defects of workmanship or
functionality. During that time, if your unit has problems, Quickshot
will either fix or replace it.
